I didn't mean the small ball. I mostly meant the rough start for ZG and the top of the order being pretty useless.

Great comeback win last night. I was hoping Emanuel got the start today, but, I'm OK with Garcia. We have Emanuel ready if he gets in trouble. I am also hoping for a Castro start behind the plate. Maldonado is now 5-54, 25 K's, ZERO runs batted in, and a .093 BA. Castro has half the at bats with 6 hits, 2 homers, and 7 runs batted in. Yet, Dusty seems to be in love with Maldonado. Maldonado does a great job with the pitchers but he is an automatic out. Castro is also a good catcher, frames pitches well, and even though he is not a good hitter, he is Johnny Bench compared to Maldonado. Dusty finally used Castro to pinch hit for Maldonado and Castro took a bases loaded walk to force in the winning run. Castro deserves more playing time.
Myles Straw had a great game and Tucker is showing signs of coming out of it. Maybe Bregman actually contributes today.

If Javier and Stanek can continue to really produce for the team, plus if Straw can show why the Astros didn't need to get a CF in FA, then I believe the Astros will win the AL West, and have a serious shot in the playoffs...

I agree. If Valdez comes back healthy, along with Paredes and Scrubb, we should win the West. We will have to wait to see if we wasted money on Odorizzi.

The thing about Emanuel is that he has never been any good throughout his career. I'm afraid that was a fluke the other day. I remember Bielak also impressed in his first game, then sucked the rest of the year.

And he actually was good in the minors. But I agree with you about Emanuel.

Our moron manager doesn't like to sweep a series so he puts a half-assed lineup out there today just like he did Sunday when he gave a game to the Angels. He gives Brantley and Tucker both a "rest" at the same time while Yordan is outl So, we have NO reliable left-handed hitter in the lineup. All of this "resting" shit keeps costing us games. These players are paid big buck to play....not sit on their ass and rest.
