Really good all-around game. The guys that have been hot stayed hot, Tucker continues to show signs of his return, and Correa hopefully broke out of his funk.
Hopefully Urquidy is okay. On the plus side, Bielak continues to look like a good long reliever and spot starter. With him and Emanuel it appears we have a little more depth than maybe we thought at the beginning of the year (at least for short durations).

I had been awake for 36 hours. and finally crashed just minutes before the MVP hit his leadoff homer. Sounds like a good game was played by our cheating Astros...sorry I missed it, but the sleep was precious. I see that Corch is back to calling Correa "Carla", so it looks like he's off of THAT bandwagon already. Since you introduced us to calling Correa "Carla", I assumed you'd love it since you have constantly hammered him no matter what he did. To you, the only players we have who make mistakes are the pitchers. Carla went 3-3 with a walk. Maybe he is getting a new type of massage.

No loyalty, with exception to Mullet Who Should Not Be Named.... And you keep putting sugar on it no matter how badly the turd stinks. I thought after a 2-33 streak it was OK to call him Carla again. He stared redeeming himself last night. I don't see how pointing out when a player is screwing up is being disloyal. You don't have to ignore the negatives to be loyal.

I didn't introduce the Carla nickname. I also rarely comment on Correa other than in relation to his activities outside of baseball. The only pitcher I ever bitch about is McTwitchy because he's as big a mongoloid as you are.

You were the first I remember referring to Correa as Carla so I gave you credit for it. "McTwitchy", as you call him, has had four good starts in a row topped off by the 8 innings he turned in against the Angels. He also worked through adversity instead of caving because of it. All of this is a good sign. Now, if our other pitchers could give us 8 solid innings instead of the four inning starts we have been getting from Greinke, we'd be in great shape. You "rarely comment" on anything related to a player, the team, or the game. We are left to assume that you refrain from such comments so as not to expose the fact that you know basically nothing about any of them. Maybe if you would pay attention to those of us who actually know the game and how to evaluate players you would learn how to have a discussion without having to resort to using f-bombs, etc.

While I don't want to get in the middle of a Mongoloid vs. Frog battle, I would just point out that McT has actually been a very good starter so far this year. It still remains to be seen if he can stay healthy, but he's currently pitching at an $85 million value. He needs to get the walk rate down a little more, but he's allowing less hits than ever before while maintaining his strikeout rates. Not to mention he has gone 6 or more innings his last 4 starts.
Now let's hope Javier gets back on track and can go at least 5-6 innings. After being nearly unhittable in April, he has given up 8 Runs in 10.1 IP in May.

His results have been fine this year, but he’s never more than 1 pitch away from becoming unhinged because he acts like a child. When he’s not playing the mongoloid, he does pretty good. However, he has EARNED the ridicule he receives.

You do the same with him that I get accused of doing with Altuve.

The overall results have been good this year (and really for most of his career) and that's what we need. We just need him to stay healthy consistently.

I think McCullers has maturity issues that aggravates Bortaz and me. He stands to be the Astros ace next year, he needs to grow up and act like one. There has been some progress this year, but still he has a way to go.

But, it appears that he is working to get it corrected so I'm going to give him credit for it. He had a chance to tank at Yankee Stadium when something went against him and he didn't. He had a shot at blowing up when the plate umpire made what was obviously a terrible call that cost him. He settled down and retired the side in both cases. I am not saying he will never show those immaturity issues again, but, it appears he is working on them with good results. He has had five good starts in a row, especially on Tuesday. Yes, he has a way to go,but, I think he's trying.

I think it's more of lack-of-emotional-control issues that will always be there to some extent. Although if we're being fair, a lot of great pitchers had emotional control issues throughout their careers. Clemens for one immediately off the top of my head (remember the bat throwing thing against Piazza?). And even JV can get a little pissy when things don't go his away.

one thing I noticed different about McCullers is he's using his fastball and slider more. I don't know if that has anything to do with his apparent success, but at least his command of those pitches means he doesn't have to depend on his curve so much

They’re not just sitting on the curveball anymore. Also, the fastball will only be stronger due to his Six Million Dollar Man surgery.

LOL, comparing that little baby to two of the best pitchers in a generation. Plus, there is a WIDE difference between getting fired up/pissed off (but remaining elite) and throwing a hissy fit and giving up back to back bombs because the beer vendor sneezed.
