20-17
Now is the time to make some hay. Don't get lackadaisical with the Rangers though. They're exceeding expectations so far and are feisty. They also have a couple guys having very good seasons so far in Nate Lowe and Adolis Garcia.
This could be a bit of a trap series if they get too cocky. (SEE the Detroit series early in the year)

Hopefully, Javier is back to being the pitcher he was before his last start. Any pitcher, especially the young ones, are going to have ugly games once in awhile. I think Cristian rebounds against the Rangers tonight.
We are beginning to see the real Kyle Tucker and maybe his 3-3 last night snaps Correa out of his slump. I am sure McCormick's three run homer last night will earn him a trip back to the bench.

And we don't have to look at Odor's ugly carcass.

We are facing another former Astros farmhand tonight. We traded Folty for Gattis. Hopefully we beat up on him like we did Sandoval last night.

They are definitely exceeding expectations and only 5 games back of OAK.

And we don't have to look at Odor's ugly carcass. He was hard to recognize in a Yankee uniform since they made the asshole clean up and shave. Glad we don't have to look at the ugly jackass again so soon.

The Rangers are horrible, man. Great job, you jinxed this game They have played better than expected, but, they are still less than average. We have a rested bullpen and our hitters should be able to put some runs up against their pitching.

Dusty said in the post game interview......between "you knows"......that Yuli was "feeling sick" when he took him out of the game. I trust it's just a stomach virus or something. Diaz will do OK at first base.

Having a guy like Diaz to fill-in all over the diamond with a respectable bat is such a gift. I think we're really going to miss having somebody like him if we don't keep him after next year.
We talk a lot about our core guys (for good reason), but Diaz is of pretty high value himself. He's played 6 positions this year while hitting .268/.325/.394 (104 OPS+).

I'm extremely high on Kris Bryant. They have him at 3b and CF this year. At his level to play to completely different roles is outstanding. I am all for a Bryant signing this next offseason...good bye Correa....and I am glad the Astros have a club option on Yuli....

Urquidy had been consistent and it would be a shame if this thing ends up being serious......for him and the team.

Diaz is very valuable to have on the team for his bat and ability to play all over the place. He is another guy I'd like to see extended.

How does he compare to Correa defensively? He's an adequate 3B but his best defense is behind him. He's not as good as Bregman. Offensively: Bryant + Bregman > Bregman + Correa Defensively: Bryant + Bregman < Bregman + Correa Bryant is the steadier pick, but Correa has the higher ceiling if he ever reaches his full potential.

How does he compare to Correa defensively? Correa is by far superior defensively.....Correa is probably top 3....Fielding wise at 3B, Bryant is average at best...But I like how he gives the team versatility....He can play 3b, LF and CF... As posted before, in the same amount of seasons as Correa, more dependable (plays more games) and outproduces (better BA, OBP, SLG)....

True for now until Astros prospects get promoted...plus gives the team more flexibility in other FAs....

If it were a prospect scenario, I think I would lean on the higher ceiling player....But if it is committing multiple years contract towards a veteran, I rather lean to the player who is steadier.... Both have played 7 seasons, Bryant has proven to play more games and produce better offensively....There is a 3 age difference favoring Correa, but because of that, he will want a longer contract....And I think any team should be cautious to offering a player that already has shown he really can't play even 80% of a season in his younger years.

The good news is that we will have barrels full of money to spend on whoever we want Good point. What is we want both? I want to spend some of that money on a solid starting pitcher to replace Greinke. Verlander plans to keep playing..........we just don't know where. If he's healthy, I want him back. I want to get Yordan, Tucker, and Javier locked into deals.
