Baez has the ninth for his Astros debut. And damn near gave up a dinger on the first pitch for the team.

Saint posted the other day that JIT said it. He was probably just trolling you. I doubt it. He's that clueless. LOL If he was trolling me, he was following your lead.

All I will say on the comparison of Robel and Taylor Jones is I'd rather send the batboy to the plate in a clutch situation than Robel. Before being sent down the last time, Taylor looked terrible. Since being brought up this time, he has produced at the plate and has done a good job at first base. I would keep him up here with the Astros ahead of Jacob Wilson.
Taylor is Mike Trout compared to Robel.

I guarantee I can strike out on 3 pitches as well as Robel. I would do it for just $100k a year too.

Just having him back in Sugar Land is a plus for the Astros.

I expected him to hit about the same as Robel. Obviously, I'm pleasantly surprised to see I was wrong about that. But seriously, did anyone here expect to see what we've seen from Jones?

No, for the time being both the Astros and Jones are lucky he is contributing. No clue how long it's going to last, so Yuli coming back on Friday will be very good. Jones might have extended his MLB stay, Astros bench is not good. We need Bregman back, so Diaz can be what he is best at, super utility guy. Which is a very variable thing to have on the team.

I’m not too surprised at what we’ve seen from Jones. He has put up decent numbers throughout his minor league career. Of course, there are a lot of players who posted decent numbers in the minors, but fell on their face in MLB. So I wouldn’t have been shocked to see him fall on his face either.
