The Yankees have pretty much gifted us all our runs. It’s amazing we’re up 3-1 right now. Our pitching has been the only thing keeping us in this.

This is what I was worried about. If we lose tonight, our options are bullpen game tomorrow or Cole. I don’t like the idea of Cole tomorrow because if that goes south, it’s a bullpen game for 7. That’s no bueno.
Tomorrow the Yankees may throw a bullpen game, which would be ideal.

Yeah when you look at the numbers this series, it's all around very bad. Altuve, Brantley, and Bregman are getting on base real well, but nobody is driving in runs outside of a random HR.

Álvarez has been garbage this series. Enough of the free outs. Yes, he has been garbage, but, he has a lot of company......Gurriel, Bregman, Brantley. Yordan is a 22 year old rookie hitting against the Yankees.....the other three are vets.....Go check the stats......Bregman has always disappeared at the plate in the ALCS. He does show up to grin in interviews and doesn't do shit with the bat. |

Baseball is such a fascinating game. Had Hicks not gotten that f'n dinky 350 ft, foul pole HR in the first, the dynamics and tone of the game would have been so different.
Kudos to JV for not unraveling after that bit of ultimate suck luck.

OTOH, I understand slumps and the pressures of the post season, but this kid has such a good swing, batting eye, and strong as hell........... Something's amiss. Someone with his skills just doesn't forget how to hit. AJ needs to get the coaching staff stat to get this kid back on track. |

This is the 2nd time this post season that Verlander had a chance to lock up the series and failed to do so from the first inning. Of course both were road games but still, not good.
We may have to rely once again on daddy "Cole" to bail us out

with RISP, I’d be more comfortable. It’s tiring to see this offense either hit a home run or rely on the defense screwing up to score.

When I said, he disappears in ALCS games, go check the stats.......in games played in ALCS games, he is combined 8 for 50. I call that disappearing. He has done nothing in this series. Stating facts about a player doesn't mean I don't like him. I still think he deserves to win the AL MVP for what he did in the regular season. In tbis series, he has been basically a no-show. |
