Verlander vs. Strasburg
Law of averages would seem to lean towards JV being due for a dominant start and Strasburg a bit of a clunker. We'll see. Right now our offense just isn't getting it done with runners on. That being said, that game last night was ultra close if you break down some of it. Which I won't.
Bottom line is we need more offense from Bregman and Correa.

Yes absolutely need Bregman and Correa to step up. Especially Bregman!
Good news, Springer and Alvarez look better so far this series.

AJ should drop Correa and Bregman to #8 and #9 in the batting order and see if that jolt to their egos would light a fire under them. They better go to the plate looking to swing the bat. Strausburg has walked 1 batter in 22 innings pitched this postseason while striking out 33. In his career he has walked just 5 in 41 innings pitched in the postseason while striking out 57.

Bregman has looked like anything other than an MVP in the post season....so far he has blown ever RBI chance he's had by watching strikes he should hit and swinging at balls out of the zone, completely the opposite of how he did in the regular season. Correa isn't much better......three K's last night. Springer admiriong what he thought was a home run that turned what should have been a triple into a double cost us the tying run because he would have scored on Jose's fly ball to right. You can't expect pitching to dominate every game....the offense has to put runs on the board.

I'm depressed. I really thought they had that game after they had the initial lead and then later when I thought they would come back.

It is depressiong when you watch a team that is not performing as they should with the bat.....No matter how good your pitching is you still have to score.........Bregman and Correa were no-shows in game one and that killed us.

Your only responsibility tonight and for the next week is to set up your laptop outside your shower, get naked, turn on the water, climb into the stream, and don't move until we win 4 games.

I knew Chirinos would catch, but, I was hoping to see Tucker in for Reddick.
I think we even the series with our bats heating up. Important for Verlander to get deep into the game and we need to get into the Nats pen.

Tucker got a hit and scored so back to the bench for Reddick. Lord have mercy.

At least they seem okay with pinch hitting for Reddick early on if necessary.

Hinch is being stubborn by not putting Tucker in the lineup and benching Reddick. After I post this, Reddick will probably have a good game.

One thing, Hinch is Loyal to a fault. He stuck with Reddick through August and September when he was awful at the plate. I think he believes if he plays him enough the Pixie Dust will drop and he will start hitting Bombs. That hasn't happened and at this point very unlikely to happen.

And it's surprising considering Strasburg was considerably better against lefties than righties this year.

Reddick is stellar with the glove. It's not Hinch being loyal so much as he's anal when it comes to defense

That would have been even worse. A.J.'s M.O. would be to start Jake tonite if Reddick sat and folks wouldn't be cool with that I'm sure
