With stars like Trout and Price pulling out of 2020, look for more dominoes to fall. Who knows if Altuve might be next? The excitement for this season has been sapped from me as a bunch of overpaid athletes can’t even try to give fans a distraction and are teaching us all to just put our lives on hold and to live in fear of the virus indefinitely.

No big loss........Trout usually pulled out about this time every year anyway and Price would be on the Injured List. Let the wimps who choose to pull out, but don't give them one damn dime of their salary.

I see no point in playing a watered down season.

Heard someone say that Altuve is about 80% on the "won't play because of my kids" team.

I see no point in playing a watered down season. Yeah, it’s like a birthday party with no drinks, food, people, or cake. What’s the point?

Altuve has pride so I expected him to play, Hopefully, we don't have any Astro players who choose to sit out.

Astros cancel practice today due to not getting test results back.
The more I hear about players opting out and issues like this the more I feel there’s no reason to do a season this year.

I predict they end up saying more cases are reported once all players report for workouts and they will cancel the season. At this point, I don't care.

I'll take some baseball over no baseball. Always. I was against the season, because of the owners and players squabbling, but if they actually work out a deal, I'm all for the Astros playing this season. Taking into the consideration that Springer, Brantley and Yuli are all pending free agents after this season

Taking into the consideration that Springer, Brantley and Yuli are all pending free agents after this season Thankfully we don't have to worry about their disputes as long as the teams get back on the field. All things considered, if we can get a 3rd of a season and an actual postseason, I'm pretty pleased. And I think once the season gets underway, most people will forget that it isn't a normal season. I'll take just as much pride in another pennant or championship this season as I would any other. In fact, given everything the teams and players are having to go through, in some ways it might be even more impressive. The only thing that won't matter are any record-setting rate stats (if somebody hits .400 or something). That will be overrated.

Not that it wouldn't be cool to see Altuve hit .400 or Bregman with an OBP of .500 or some nonsense, but it won't have as much value.

I can't imagine that. Wouldn't that be the equivalent of about 270 Hits over a full season? (Or is my math wrong?)

Don't be surprised when the decision is made to cancel the season. As soon as workouts began, we had players start whining and refusing to report. Now, that testing is being done, expect a bunch of players to test positive which may or may not be accurate. The whole deal is political from the get-go and everything necessary to keep the economy from recovering will be done...manfred will listen to frauds llke Dr. Fauci and decide it's too dangerous to play. The day after Trump hands B\iden his ass in the election, COVID-19 will miraculously disappear and democrats will come up with a new scam to use against Trump.
I hope we get Astros baseball, but I wouldn't be a dime on it.
