I think I'd probably be content with keeping my fridge/freezer running...and some fans. And of course a place to charge the devices for the kids. I reckon it'd be pretty difficult to power the house...it's a bit over 3300sqft. But a fan...yeah...I need a fan.

I purchased a 1 ton window unit to throw in a window since I will not attempt to put my central air on it. It should easily handle the window unit, 2 freezers, fridge and lights with a little extra to boot.

I noticed that some of them run on both propane and gas. I wonder if a propane tank would last longer than a tank of gas.

Generac makes several models but I believe it has to be professionally installed before they will honor the warranty. You can have it rigged to run a couple of rooms or a whole house. Natural gas is usually the last service you lose unless floods rip the pipes out of the ground.

I have 1200 rounds of .223, 6 boxes of .45 ACP, a few boxes of buckshot, a bag of Doritos, some refried beans, two cases of water and enough margarita mix for a year. Short of a nuclear holocaust, I'm ready.

Charmin Ultra Comfort Care with Ripples.... I find people that are usually butthurt, figuratively and literally, are probably using the wrong toilet paper.

I’m an amateur homeowner. What should I stock up on for these storms? Get zip lock bags. Fill them with water and put in the freezer. If you lose power it will help keep your meat cool till power is restored. Make sure you have candles and a lighter if your batteries drain quick in your flashlight.
