They are different hitters with RISP. They take strikes, hit pitcher’s pitches, hit grounders to the shift, etc. Exactly. It is just plain stupid to pull the ball into the shift with the other side of the infield wide open. Springer reached for an outside pitch and tapped it into the shift. They take too many strikes with RISP....you are dead right. I knew Dusty had thrown in the towel when he bring in Sneed to pitch the 8th. To nobody's surprise, that piece of crap gave up the same number of runs in the inning that the A's had scored in the first seven. Sneed turns a 3-0 lead into a 6-0 lead by putting the ball in the middle of the zone. The A's showed patience at the plate all night and didn't try to pull everything like our guys do. I realize it is not Baker's fault that we have a young, inexperienced pen, but, he does a lousy job of knowing when to use what he has. Sneed needs to be gone. We should never see him, Biagini, or Devenski again, but,I am sure we will. Why they keep those three worthless clowns is a mystery. It seems most of our hitters want to take the outside pitch and pull it. They take too many home run pitches for strikes. Even the most disciplined hitter, Michael Brantley, takes pitches down the middle only to swing at a low pitch and ground out. For the life of me, I cannot figure out why you would use Sneed unless you figured the game was lost anyways.

Bringing in Sneed was the same as waving the white flag and saying "we quit". Our hitters have to be the most undisciplined in the league. Right now, the only one who seems to hit to the opposite field as well as pull the ball is Tucker. He seems to know to take the outside pitch to left. The rest seem to be pull happy. Dusty must really dislike Stubbs to keep using Garneau as the backup catcher. He isn't good defensively or with the bat. I hope Bregman is in the lineup tomorrow.

What sucks most for Click is our loss of draft picks. That’s another problem. He inherited a mess. unfortunately the only GM I can think of who turned an organization around from a similar mess is Luhnow and ownership sent him packing
