What good is 98 mph if you can’t locate it?

James is not the pitcher I had hoped for. James hanging a breaking ball when he has a fastball that can hit 100 mph is just plain dumb. If you are going to give it up, do it using your best stuff. When he pitched one scoreless inning, that should have been it. Raley or Scrubb could have been brought in at that time. We lost the game as soon as Pinder's home run cleared the fence. I was afraid that Altuve's brain fart on the bases would come back to haunt us, too. It cost us at least one run and maybe more. That is the main thing about him that drives me nuts......his mental mistakes at crucial times always seem to cost us games. No excuse for a guy with his experience to run into the second out at third base. It seems like he makes more mental mistakes on the bases than any player I can ever remember wearing an Astros uniform. He is coming around with the bat, but, that damn baserunning error helped hang us today. I am expecting Javier to get the start tomorrow, but, I won't be surprised to see Zack Greinke.

Do we have a hitting coach? Why isn't something being done to help Yuli out of this slump?

In retrospect, all of us should criticize James, but which one of our pitchers wasn’t throwing gopherball pitches? Urquidy had terrible command and resorted to throwing the fastball pretty much exclusively. Raley was all over the place. Taylor was wild. Oakland was bound to steal a win.

Well, unfortunately they decided to go conservative with the bullpen rather than continuing to kick them while they were down. Hopefully that doesn't come back to bite us.

Dusty was hoping Josh James would be different and not suck. Turns out that was a tall order for him. Meanwhile, Javier, Paredes, Pressly, and perhaps Scrubb are all ready.

When Josh got out of his first inning without giving up a run, that should have been it for him. Raley or Scrubb should have been used then and not after Josh gave up three runs. Urquidy gave up 4 home runs...all on hanging breaking balls. Josh did the same thing on the pitch to Pinder. Getting beat with secondary pitches is just dumb.

If the Astros do win this series, then I would think if they have greatly exceeded our expectations, given all the injuries that they've gone through.

When McCullers had runners on second and third the other day, did any of us see him stranding the runners?
