I'm not a huge NBA or Rockets fan, but I do hope for their success and will watch now and then. I find this James Harden cr*p to be ridiculous. Let's outline it:
1. James Harden gets paid tons and tons of money for several years, limiting cap space. 2. James Harden never gets us to a Finals. 3. James Harden is only successful when one specific game plan is in use AND he's drawing fouls by mostly flopping. 4. James Harden repeatedly drops the ball in the postseason. Not horribly so, but he's wildly inconsistent and never seems to show up in the biggest games. 5. They've apparently cultivated a culture around him based on his desires. 6. They've involved him in personnel decisions, including this year's head coach and GM positions. 7. They've added players he wanted at great cost and loss of young talent (SEE: Westbrook).
Now he wants to go to the Nets to try and get a ring with Durant and Irving. He's still under contract for three more years, but wants to jump ship now that things haven't worked out the way he has wanted. The Rockets' organization has done everything to make him a winner, and he wants to leave now when things might be harder.
If there is a player in the world that is due a trade, it's JJ. But even he, as disgruntled as he is, isn't asking for a trade. F*ck Harden.

Now, if they offer us the moon for Harden, I am all for it.

So, wipe the overpaid baby when he soils himself and throws a tantrum? That's what they're going to do. The frustrating thing is this is a couple days after he said he was committed to the team.

I’ve never cared much for him. I’ve never seen a guy get praised so much for disappearing in elimination games. The Spurs game where he peaced out made me lose faith in him.

Now Yahoo is reporting that the players are upset because the Rockets' owner is a Republican and supported Trump's campaign.

It sucks that my dislike of Harden has been justified. I really wanted to like him but I couldn’t get there.

It sucks that my dislike of Harden has been justified. I really wanted to like him but I couldn’t get there. I don't know much about the guy himself, but as a basketball player I've never liked his approach. I don't like playing to draw fouls and throwing up 20 3-pointers a game even when you aren't making them. I know he gets very high ratings for his scoring efficiency and such, and that should prove his value as a player (kind of like a high OPS+), but I don't like the style of play. I guess it's kind of like the Adam Dunn style of basketball. Lots of walks and HRs, but also lots of strikeouts. Its all or nothing. I liked Adam Dunn a lot, but he's never the kind of guy that carries the team to success. Just like Harden.

It makes sense though right? The style of boom or bust play?

I like that we're starting to stockpile 1st round picks though. Rip the bandaid off and get young and good again.
