Brantley is about as good as it gets right now. Bregman and Yuli seem to be returning to form. Unfortunately, Maldonado is doing what he does best at the plate......strike out and hit into DP's. Big clutch hit for Kyle to get his first hit of the season.
Altuve looked fantastic all the way around........hitting, baserunning, and defense. Andrus felt like a fool when he allowed Jose to score on Tucker's popup.
Javier was fantastic for the first three innings, but, seemed to hit a wall in the 4th. The pen was good enough to get the win. I still don't like Pressley as a closer.

The player should be taught to bunt before he gets to the majors. For some reason, managers don't like the bunt and some players feel insulted if asked to bunt. Bunting doesn't get them top dollar, long term contracts. Guys like Straw should be given no choice......learn to bunt and do it to take advantage of speed. He should be smart enough to do it on his own. If not, the manager should should call for it. |

Y'all don't remember last year when it came out that the stat geek front offices decided that the bunt is non-profitable and a relic of the past? They aren't taught to bunt because they don't want them to ever do it.
