6-2 Time for a bounce back game by the offense! I should never have mentioned a double digit scoring shutout I was hoping for.

I want to see six strong innings from Urquidy. I expect the offense to bounce back. I doubt if Yordan K's four times today.

No Bregman today. I wonder if it's strictly a scheduled day off or because he's having a bad streak/

No Bregman today. I wonder if it's strictly a scheduled day off or because he's having a bad streak/ Dusty rested him in Oakland. According to the TV announcers, he was resting his hamstring.

They're being cautious with the hamstring. Which is good.

1-2-3. Time for the offense to beat the hell out of Oakland.

Man, Yordan is deep in the tank. His timing looks way off and he is guessing. Nice to see that Diaz knows how to take advantage of the shift and hit the other way. Too bad most of the others either can't or won't.

I loved seeing Yordan lay that bunt down the third baseline against that shift,

A great day by Altuve...........difference in the last two games of this series was the A's got hits with two outs to score runs and we didn't.
Why did we trade Laureano to the A's for Brandon Bailey? Another dumb move by Luhnow.

We're going to have to upgrade at catcher. Although most of them werent very good today. I have been thinking the same thing. Both are good defensively but are basically automatic outs at the plate. When Maldonado gets a hit, it's a lucky break. Castro has power but fails to make contact most of the time. I don't think Lee is close to being ready. We gave up on Stubbs. I don't think we wanted to spend the money for Realmuto. We have seldom had catcher we could depend on to hit. I also don't understand why our guys don't take pitches in the late innings when we need baserunners to have a chance to come back. Diaz comes up leading off the 9th, swings at the first pitch, and make a weak out. To me, that is ridiculous.

I am still scathing my head and wondering who made the decision to send Javier to the alternate site to activate Odorizzi. I thought they'd send Garcia or Bielak down. Javier pitches five scoreless innings to help beat the A's and they ship him out. Whoever made this decision is an idiot. Other than Greinke, Javier has been our most effective starter. We sent him out and keep a useless piece of crap like Joe Smith.

We are really good to go with a four man rotation until Aoril 24. By that time, Javier can come off the list. In the mean time, we can look at another BP arm if the right situation arises. Urquidy only makes one start until then and the rest are a rotation of Greinke, McCullers and Odorizzi.
While not likely, it would be nice if Valdez were ready. But I suspect he has a rotation or two of simulated games before he'd even be considered.
