With me having 2 kids at home, 2 house notes, 2 car notes and now Mom is killing me. I feel that. My dad left my mother basically reliant on me when he died. She lived 10 years after he died, and it was a constant struggle keeping her fed and sheltered until she died in 2020, plus trying to do it from 700 miles away (she refused to move down here with us). |

With me having 2 kids at home, 2 house notes, 2 car notes and now Mom is killing me. My dad died right before I turned 21. Mom was still working and did until her health forced her to retire. She took care of herself for several years before her health got so bad it was difficult for her to live alone. Both of us lived about 100 miles away and she didn't want to move so one of us went every weekend to check on her and be sure she had what she needed. We also phoned regularly. She finally had to move close to us and it was much easier. |
