Please get a hit Yordan. Don’t leave it to Take 2! Take 2 actually swung after taking a meat pitch for a strike.

What a pathetic series. They should be ashamed of themselves. They let Maeda neutralize them with the same pitch a million times.

Like I’ve said before, this team is hard to believe in because they’re so streaky. It’s a lineup of 9 lumberjacks with no 2-strike approach. When was the last time they won a series?

McCullers and Maton both sucked today. The rest of the pen did the job.....Yimi was outstanding. Jake Meyers got a double for his first hit. Old ""Take 2 finally hit a line drive home run. We actually ended up with what should have been enough offense to win. Lance never had his head in this game. He was still pounding his chest over his game in LA and let the Twins kick his ass. Then, Maton was awful. I would not have been opposed to trading Straw, but, this was not a good trade.
If Montero goes on the IL......and he probably will......this may be the time to activate Baez. They are also saying Bregman could be activated by Tuesday. He was at the game today. Dusty's boy, Raley, was serving another game of his suspension today.

If he talks about them being tired due to the "dog days of August", I wish the reporters would laugh at him. Brantley will probably have something else to add to his weak ankle.

I just would’ve preferred a starter.

On another note, will the guy who said Robel is better than Taylor Jones please raise his hand. LOL

I'm glad a reporter brought up the time Yordan half ran to first base...Dusty's answer was that he had been playing a lot and was sore. Doctors are "observing" Brantley and Montero.

These guys are more sore than hustling players I’ve seen in the past. I never saw Biggio or Bagwell jog to first base. Not sure about Berkman, but yeah there’s always an excuse.

Two guys in the past that could be counted on to drag their asses to first base were Derek Bell and Marwin Gonzalez. Being sore is not an acceptable reason for not hustling. Being sore isn't the same as being injured. He was even making some excuses for McCullers which was laughable. Lance shit the bed and that is a fact. He never had his head in the game. He was not prepared and fired up for the Twins as he was the Dodgers and it showed. Maton just threw a horrible pitch that Polanco hit for the home run.......a curve that hung belt high over the plate.

I see the Astros are going to do what the Mets did and lose 1st and be back a few games. They are working on it. The Rockies are awful so probably lose at least one of those. Most of our upcoming schedule is against teams with losing records and we've been awful against those teams.

Rough series after an emotional 2-game stint in LA. Hopefully they can reset after the day off tomorrow. If it helps, they aren't losing by much. They're not in sync at the moment at all. Having some of your big guns out while also dealing with the normal aches and pains that come along with this point in the season, have definitely taken their toll.
Bregman and Yuli should be back soon. Hopefully Brantley is fine, and Altuve will be back in the lineup on Tuesday. They've lost some of their lead on Oakland, but they're still in a good position.

Yes, we are in a good position, but, there is no reason to have lost 3 of 4 to the Twins. Continuing to blow games to the bottom feeders is going to eventually cost us. We need to be trying to secure home field advantage in the post season and this isn't the way to do it. Oakland has a tougher schedule if you go by who they play, but, they beat the weaker teams and we haven't done it as of yet. We could have Bregman back Tuesday and Yuli for the road trip. I would not be surprised to see Montero go to the IL and Baez be activated.

Playing down to the level of the lesser competition is a matter of a lack of self discipline on the part of the players. It is as simple as that. Each player has to find it within himself to show up at the ballpark and put forth their best each game without any consideration for who the opponent is that day. For the most part this self discipline is lacking on the Astros.

Just attack when there’s a mistake pitch. You didn’t see the Twins up there hoping for walks.
