Not "who do you think is the best' but rather, which player is your personal favorite, regardless of the reason.
If you say Jose Altuve, you MUST include a second favorite since Jose is the face of the franchise.
I was a huge George Springer fan when he was with the team but since he's no longer an Astro, my favorite is Michael Brantley.

I guess Kyle Tucker. If he stays with the club through free agency, he has a shot at being the best LHB the franchise has ever had

Springer was. Now that he's gone, it's Kyle Tucker. My next is a tossup between Brantley and Yuli.

Springer was. Now that he's gone, it's Kyle Tucker. My next is a tossup between Brantley and Yuli. Jake was your favorite, followed by Springer! Wrong. Jake was never my favorite. He was a fine defensive outfielder and terrible hitter. George was my favorite player for many reasons. He was a clutch hitter, very good defensive outfielder, and the emotional leader of the team. The last few years he was here, he was the MVP of the Astros, but, I am not going to rehash all of that. I realize most everyone else thinks Jose is the MVP and "heart and soul" of the Astros. Due to his longevity, I can go along with the "heart and soul" part. He is a great team player without question. George was also my favorite Astros because of the work he did with kids, especially those who had to overcome speech impediments similar to his. He never refused a kid asking for an autograph and always tried to acknowledge kids and make them feel special. I hated to see him leave and we still miss his bat at the top of that lineup. Yes, he was a better leadoff man than Jose. Now, that George is gone, Kyle Tucker is my favorite player for he has worked to establish himself and how he conducts himself. I have a lot of respect for Jose, but, Kyle is my favorite player, followed by Michael and Yuli. Jose has enough people slobbering all over him without me getting involved. When I coached, kids who made mental mistakes over and over were usually the ones who got on my nerves. I played them because some were good at their positions and could hit. I just have never been able to look over the same guys make the same mental mistakes over and over again. Lack of patience at the plate was also a pet peeve of mine.

No telling how great Brantley could have been if he stayed healthy all these years. He reminds me of one of my all time favorites in Moises Alou.

Could you imagine this as the team
1B - Bagwell 2B - Altuve SS - Correa 3B - Bregman LF - Brantley CF - Springer RF - Alou C - Biggio

I should've clarified Tucker is my 2nd favorite Astro. Álvarez is 3rd; probably the best LHB we've had up to now. But injuries and how much he's likely to command in free agency means Tucker could eclipse some of his franchise totals, and I'd probably root for him to
Tuve is my favorite Astro

Elaborating is good. When Springer was an Astro, he was my favorite and no one else came close. Now Brantley is my favorite but it's a virtual tie between him and Altuve.

Historical: Jeff Bagwell, Nolan Ryan, Glenn Davis Current: Altuve, and then I'm really impressed by Chas right now too. I like his overall skillset.

From a purely offensive standpoint, he's the most impressive to watch with his combination of power and spreading the ball around when's he on.

As long as Yordan is basically one dimensional, he can't go into the top group as far as I see it. He needs someone who knows how to coach it to teach him to play first base. He may be a competent OF, but, he will never be one who needs to be a regular out there. He could be Yuli's replacement at first base if properly taught the position, especially the footwork involved.
