Stanek has been phenomenal lately. It was like another trade deadline acquisition. Our bullpen has turned from something I didn’t want to see to a strength. Stanek doesn't have the pressure on him that he had before the trades and looks relaxed on the mound.

I heard on 790 earlier today, it was the first time that no starting pitcher, for any team, did not pitch 6 innings. Of course, yesterday there were games that were weather delayed in the middle of the game that were causes for pitching changes later on. Also, the Twins just mini swept the White Sox. I guess the Twins are a spoiler team now. Kalas mentioned it too.

They have been helped all year by being in the weakest division in baseball.

Now that Laureano has been suspended 80 games after testing positive for PED's, I wonder if the A's knew this was coming before they traded for Marte.

Laureano reminds me of Pepe Serna in Scarface when he got shredded with the chainsaw. He's a weasel

You have to be impressed by Meyers' skillset. Between him, Chas, Tucker, Yordan, and Brantley I feel like we have more OF depth than I originally thought. and nary a Marisnick in the bunch. These are the halcyon days

I think the Astros will leave him in the minors until after next year’s super two period. This year is designed to get his mlb attitude right.

If I remember right, they left Correa down until they would not lose a year of control on his contract and then brought him up in June.

As we head to Anaheim with a 1.5 game lead after the A's hammered the Indians 17-0 today, we need to stop and tell ourselves we have nothing to fear. With a mastermind like Dusty Baker Jr. in charge, there is no way we won't win the division and go to the WS.

They keep downplaying the A’s, and they keep nipping at their heels.

Astros are 2nd in the AL, so we shouldn't be complaining too much.

Anyone else watching this cornfield game, between the Yankees and the White Sox? And wondering who to root against?

The A's are not going to quit. They always keep coming and this year will be no exception. I hope Dusty doesn't give players too many "scheduled days off" and it bites us in the butt.
