He has had 7 AB's and has done nothing with them. Jones is 6-20, 2 doubles, a home run, and 5 RBI. Wilson has NOTHING. Jones has produced..Wilson has not. Wilson may yet produce, but, Jones is the better option to be in the lineup right now. That's short-sighted thinking. If Wilson rides the pine he isn't likely to get any better for a time when you do need him. And they won't know whether he'll be worth keeping on the roster. He had 3 plate appearances as an Astro prior to last night's game. Dusty is absolutely right and you're dead wrong. If they're on the roster, they DO need to be used occasionally. Why take a guy who IS producing out of the lineup to go with one who MIGHT produce if given more AB's? I am more interested in playing guys who are producing because I'm trying to win. The goal is to win the division, not to see that all the players get playing time. Give AB's to lesser players late in games that have been decided. Dusty is dead WRONG in this case just like he was WRONG when he used McCullers to pinch hit in LA. You were WRONG then and you are WRONG now.

So you've backtracked on your belief that a player can't be blamed for his performance if he's been sitting on the pine? You were sure strong in that opinion for your boyfriend Stubby. So, you think a guy who is contributing to the offense should be taken out of the lineup so a guy who has done nothing can get a chance to produce? When I wanted Stubbs to get a chance to play last year, I wanted him given time they were wasting on Garneau. We didn't have Castro to back up Maldonado and Stubbs would have been a better option than Garneau. Wilson is guy who we just claimed after the A's dumped him. We have had Jones in our system. He didn't produce much when brought up in the past, but, he is producing this time around. Why does Wilson deserve playing time that Jones has earned?

I couldn't care less if Jones AND Wilson die from dehydration. That's not the point.

If I said Wilson belonged in the lineup and Jones should have been benched, you would have said just the opposite. LOL LOL

I hate that crap too. So many times, they’re out of position for a double play that they sorely need because of the long throws involved. It’s a gamble that can lead to long innings. The worst thing about the shift is our hitters' inability to hit against it. Agreed.

Oh, you're trying to win games? In that case, maybe you have a point, since the Astros lost on Friday with Wilson in the lineup. Oh wait, Mongo, they didn't. They won. But I still think you have a point. On the top of your head.
