Dusty really pissed me off today. Why didn't he get up there and hit a couple of homeruns for his team? I loved the excuse he made in the post game interview as to why we didn't hit Detmers......."It's the first time we've seen him". Well, the other teams who saw him the first time hit so well that he piled up an ERA of over 10.5 against him. But, we are supposed to have the best offense in the league and we manage ONE run.

If he does, he can take little Alex's candy ass with him. Whoa there. Leave Alex alone.

If he does, he can take little Alex's candy ass with him. Whoa there. Leave Alex alone. We don't need either of them to take a walk. We just need Alex back and healthy, and, see him, Carlos, and Jose all producing up to their capabilities. If that happens, we have nothing to worry about. Having Kyle Tucker out for at least this next week will be bad if the rest don't pick up the slack.

Latest on Kyle Tucker from Astros.com:
“It won’t be any time in the next week,” Baker said Sunday when asked how long Tucker might be out. “You can ask me in a week.”
Tucker, who had a grand slam in Friday’s win, was replaced in right field Saturday by rookie Jake Meyers, who slugged two homers, including a grand slam in an 8-2 victory. Meyers figures to get the starts in right field while Tucker is down.
The Astros added three players to the taxi squad and brought them to Anaheim on Sunday: right-handed pitchers Bryan Abreu and Brandon Bielak and infielder Robel García. The move was made to give the Astros some insurance in case they lose any other players in the coming days.
Tucker is hitting .272 with 22 homers and 71 RBIs, which is second on the team behind Yordan Alvarez. He’s hitting .314 with 21 doubles, 17 homers, 55 RBIs and a .969 OPS since May 9. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dusty's adopted son, Robel, is on the taxi squad. We need Tucker, our team MVP this season, to return asap. \ .

Tucker or Altuve over Yuli easily. How so? Hitting the ball with more authority, driving in runs, not injured, etc.

Hitting the ball with more authority, driving in runs, not injured, etc. Nobody is right or wrong as to who the team MVP is at this point. We all have our ideas as to what makes up an MVP. All of those mentioned have certain strong points and all have their weaknesses. I like the progress Tucker has made since the season began with his power numbers and run production. He has proven to be an above average outfielder who can also steal bases. These are the reasons I like him for MVP at this point over the others.....Brantley is the best pure hitter and can ignite the offense.....Yuli has been clutch at driving in runs from third base with less than two outs, and, just getting big hits. Altuve has gotten several clutch home runs in the late innings to win games. So, we can make a point in favor of each of them. All of those we mentioned have been out of the lineup for some type of injury or due to the health and safety protocol BS.

Hitting the ball with more authority, driving in runs, not injured, etc. Yuli has the 2nd highest BA in AL and led the league in RBI for most of the first half. Now you're wanting everyone to be a HR hitter? Fickle. Tucker has been on the IL at least twice.

Tucker was just Covid injured. Besides, I supported your grandson José, and that’s all I get from you? Altuve is irrelevant in this discussion, because he hasn't been the MVP this season. 1. I’d like Altuve to bat .300, but there have been times that he’s sacrificed average to homer and carry the (at times) sputtering offense. I’ll take the homers if that’s all he can primarily do now. I’d rather he get on base more often because .346 isn’t cutting it. 2. Tucker has done impressively so far this season and seems to consistently make harder contact than Gurriel. 3. Gurriel is having a great year, but I feel like the meat of his production was earlier in the year.

It is tough because Jose, Yuli, Alvarez, and Tucker have similar stats. Brantley is the far superior hitter but he hasn’t got a ton of HRs or RBIs this year. It is a toss up IMHO.
