Correa should be replaced by Bregman in the 3 hole tomorrow. Carlos cost us this game. Sorry, but if you think Breggie belongs in the three hole.......if he ever returns and it won't be tomorrow.....he needs to be better than when he went on the IL. The offense hasn't missed him.

I love how the experts on this board are now moving on to criticizing the likely batting title champion's hitting. Even batting champions go into slumps. Brantley had a bad day........nobody wants to hang him.

He needs to prove he belongs back in the three spot. I don't like Correa in the three spot, but, he is doing as well or better there than Bregman was doing. I'd put Yuli in the three spot.

I would have Brantley in Thomas's 2 hole and Alvarez in the 3 hole.

They all blew the game. I don't think we can name any one player who blew the game, when we blew several chances early in the game and failed to score. The game never should have been close in the late innings. We should have had a 4-5 run lead before we went to the pen.

He likes to save his late inning guys like Graveman and Pressly for save situations only. Sometimes, that can be once in a week. When you seldomly get those guys into games, they get rusty. He’s got to give them some more innings.

I'm surprised y'all aren't blaming Altuve since he only had 3 hits.

When you seldomly get those guys into games, they get rusty. He’s got to give them some more innings. I've never been a fan of the one-inning-each parade of relievers with a 'closer' and 'setup man' at the end. Personally I favor using your best relievers in high-leverage situations regardless inning. But saving the best relievers for hold and save situations is a boilerplate script that almost all of the managers in baseball use. It definitely isn't unique. Even the best relievers give up runs on occasion. 3.0 is a good ERA for a reliever. On average, that equates to one run given up every third appearance. Graveman and Pressly happened to each give up a run yesterday. Shit happens.
Coming up empty in the 10th was absolutely tragic. With bases loaded an no outs, there are sooooo many ways to go from tie game to walkoff. Any hit, walk, HBP, deep fly ball, fielder's choice if there's no play at the plate, even GDP! By the time it got to Yuli, the possibilities were fewer. With two outs, you can't make an out. Yuli did a great job of working that AB. Sewell was pounding the top of the strikezone and Yuli kept fouling them off. Of the 8 pitches Yuli saw, only one wasn't a 'pitcher's pitch' or a ball.

My only question, is if we'd had a real runner on 2nd instead of Lance, do you think they send him on Altuve's single?
