Carlos is as valuable to this organization as anyone on the roster. No player on the team.... including Carlos.... is bigger than or more important than the team itself. No player on the team is worth hamstring the team financially in order to feed his ego. Make no mistake. Carlos wanting Lindor/Tatis money is all about ego. No way is he worth more to the team financially than is Altuve. |

He probably isn't worth more financially than Altuve or Bregman, but, he is worth as much. What Crane has to decide is if it's better for the team to let him go or pay him to stay. We have to consider what the options are concerning a replacement. If he wants to be ridiculous and not accept a reasonable offer, I'm OK with signing an Andrelton Simmons or Semien for a couple of years until Leon is ready. I don't want to give a long term deal to anyone other than Correa, not Baez or Story. |

Correa, by the numbers, is the best player on the team. Even with some offensive struggles this year, he's still the team leader in WAR, and it isn't particularly close.
But that doesn't mean you have to give him a contract that risks damaging the organization.

Nice article, but, no proof that the "quote" wasn't taken out of context. I put about as much faith in the accuracy of this as I would if it appeared in the National Inquirer. When I see a video and hear Carlos say that, I'll agree that it's goodbye. If he said it, it's because he knows Crane won't pay him as he has the other so-called core players. Carlos is as valuable to this organization as anyone on the roster. Crane would gladly pay him 3 years/90M... But not 8 years/240M |

I don't recall you ever being objective where he is concerned. You get your back up and go into defense mode if anyone points out any of his flaws.
