One of our MVP's this season and our best player, SS Carlos Correa, made the fantastic play to turn the DP that ended the game....Tagged dummy Aroldis Garcia who ran into the tag, and, made the throw to first to get the last out. He also lead off the 7th with the single that ignited our five run inning. Meyers struck out twice, but, got the big bases loaded double to drive in our first two runs.Uncle Mike drives in the two that tied the game.
Odorizzi was shaky at best. He throws entirely too many pitches per inning. Maton sucked but ends up being the winning pitcher......Yimi Garcia, Stanek, and Pressly all had shutdown innings. This was definitely a game that we were going to lose because we showed nothing until the 7th before we scored five to get the win. Big win for us.

It is a shame when your least effective pitcher gets the win. He’s worse than Báez. I don't know about that, but, he's too inconsistent. I think he has the makings of a good reliever. We got two perfect innings against the Royals. He gets the first guy tonight and then gives up two runs. |

I think Maton will prove to be better than Baez. I think he'll be a little bit rocky this year, but after a good off-season/coaching, We should see a pitcher that could be counted on a regular basis. I still hope the Astros re-sign Graveman....Plus, get another good reliever....I hope we don't revisit the first part of this season again, watching the worst Astros bullpen of all-time. |

Well I see the Astros won after I checked it in last night. I hope this does not re-enforce in their minds the idea that they can sleep walk through games against sub-.500 teams and still win.

Maton needs to become consistent instead of being great in one outing and awful the next. I think Maton will prove to be better than Baez. O have seen a lot of things to like about Maton. The makeup is there for him to be a good one.........Give Strom some time with him. I think Javier should go back to being a starter next season. |
