They have a reasonable shot at backing into the playoffs. Do they? What difference does it make if they qualify for the playoffs? They will make a quick exit if they do. |

There is nothing to indicate any sense of urgency. It is like they look at the scoreboard, see that the A's and other teams competing with them have lost, so they just coast another game, and, if they lose, no big deal. The attitude of losers.

The day off seemed to be what Altuve needed. He responded with two hits and hit the ball hard on two outs he made. Brantley looks like he's dragging so maybe a day or two off would be good for him.
