What a garbage shortstop we have. You're like a woman who gets her face beaten in by her boyfriend then tells her friends how sweet he is because he sends you flowers after beating you. If you were hanging off the ledge of a tall building and Correa stretched out his hand to pull you up, you would push his hand out the way. “You’re not worth thirty millionnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn…”

Although for the record, I can't stand Siri's HR watching. If I were the opposing team, I'd hit him square in the ribs with a fastball. If you glare at a hitter, benches would clear.

One of my all-time favorite baseball stories is about this hotshot kid who was brought up from the minor leagues. Dizzy Dean was on the mound. The kid stepped up to bat, asked the ump for time and started digging into the batter's box. Ol Diz let the kid dig for a while and then called out to him, “That’s right son. Dig it deep ‘cause when you’re done I’m gonna put you in it.”

Although for the record, I can't stand Siri's HR watching. A guy who spent 8 years bouncing around the minor leagues and has less than 3 weeks MLB experience, showboating like Siri does is the equivalent of a football player showboating when his team is down by 40 in the 4th quarter.

I always liked watching the Game of the Week when he and Pee Wee Reese did the games and Diz advertised that "good ole Falstaff Beer". LOL One day he and his brother Paul each started a game in a doubleheader. Diz pitched a one-hitter in the first game and Paul pitched a no-hitter in the second game. Diz said he told Paul after the game he wished he had known Paul was going to pitch a no-hitter so he'd have pitched one, too. Siri wouldn't have pulled that stunt with Dizzy Dean but once.

No one does that anymore because they don’t want to be called “boomers”.

Although for the record, I can't stand Siri's HR watching. He is awfully cocky for a guy who took 8 years to get to the show and hasn’t been on a MLB roster for even 3 weeks yet. When they added him to the roster, I was happy for him. Even after the first time he admired a homer, I gave him a pass figuring he was just caught up in the moment. But if this is standard operating procedure for him, I dislike him immensely. In contrast, Chas came right out of the box after he hit the eventual game winner and briskly made his way around the bases. The jumpin' high fives with his teammates as he reached the entrance to the dugout was a little much but still acceptable in my opinion.

During pivotal moments it’s okay to get pumped up, but this “me me me” crap is too much, and it’s not a Siri problem, it’s league wide. However, I get the emotion if you squeeze the opposition into being down to three outs. To me the worst was when he stood there admiring an RBI single against Texas during a blowout. I would hope the players would tell him to calm down, but no one polices teammates anymore.

But that doesn't excuse Siri and ultimately the entire Astros organization. I blame Dusty. He should have directed one of the veteran players to take Siri aside after the first game where he played that shit. After last night's game, he should have brought that smarmy punk into his office and laid down the law. (Hopefully he did.)

I don't think you're going to see young players reined in with celebrations at the plate anymore. It's just not really an issue to this generation of players anymore. It bothers a lot of us that have been watching for so long, but the younger fans eat it up. It's unfortunately here to stay.
I just don't care for it.

Dusty should direct Altuve and maybe some other vets to deal with this.

These young guys are allowed to get away with the "me" mentality in high school and college mainly because coaches are either not allowed to do anything about it by administrators or the coaches don't care how they act as long as they win games. The crap Siri is pulling should have been handled and stopped at Sugar Land before he got here. Once, he did it once, the manager should have called him in for a one on one. I doubt if Dusty cares how he acts. Since Dusty probably won't stop it, it's up to the veteran players to take him aside and deal with it.
