Need more players like this. Class act. I mean it’s his choice, but that doesn’t make Carlos look good.

My thought was Aquire Josh Bell. Flip Yuli Gurriel if he is still doing so so tithe Blue Jays for Cavan Biggio. Cavan can play alot of spots and may just need a change.
Call on Cedric Mullins.
I understand We need a Catcher but really there's not that much out there doing well and Machetes DEF is worth a wait on our youngsters. He would be a great coach for them when one comes up.
I would like another SP and a Closer type player aswell but I figure the prices will be high come deadline time. I believe Chase McCormick would get a ball rolling on Mullins.
As far as a Relief guy I'd watch the Cubs Bullpen. They got some guys that could help.

I don’t necessarily agree with trading Yuli, but the team has to start thinking about other options. He’s not young anymore.

I don’t necessarily agree with trading Yuli, but the team has to start thinking about other options. He’s not young anymore. I'll say this if he gets to FA he will go to Toronto. Yuli doesn't really care about money. He is set up good. He would love to play with his brother. Fact who wouldn't? But my thing is he has to change something and he hasn't. Again it's still early but something has to change. Sure Josh Bell might be a pipe dream but it's a good pipe dream. And I understand the homerism with Yuli he has done great things. But when is it enough? And what about getting something like Cavan Biggio who is in the dog house as we speak. And maybe a Prospect? Vladdy can go to DH and Yuli to 1st base. Maybe Jordan Groshans as part of the deal idk. Maybe not probubly Spencer Horwitz

He have a real nice problem that seems to be developing, we have 6 guys who are putting up a bunch of zeros. Then we have McCullers who will be ready in about 30 days. Add to that Hunter Brown has 34 ks in 23 innings of AAA ball with a 2.35 era in the run happy PCL. So we have trade bait. We need at least one more bat and I would like to say another late inning reliever but our guys seem to be doing a good job, assuming our closer gets back on track that is. So things are stacking up rather nicely right now, time changes things though and hopefully it keeps dialing to the good side for the good guys.

Agree The Relief Pitcher needs to be a must just one maybe one who has Closer material but not necessarily needed to close But there are no catchers out there really doing good that aren't expensive. So 1B seems logical. And another better Utility guy. Letting Goodrum or Diaz kick rocks which ever it may be. Then Again CF might not be to bad??

If we have too many starters we can move some to the bullpen and strengthen that area.
I don't believe we should give up our MLB ready pitchers. Pitching wins it. We've had some great offensive postseason performers, but the pitching carries the team in the postseason. Not having Lance for the WS last year is what lost it for us.

Who would you move there and what if you do so and it's just an all out bad idea and the ay flops? It's an iffy situation. If we could take one of them add a good piece back to us what could it hurt?

Pitching is not necessarily interchangeable from starter to reliever and back again. A starter has to pitch like a marathon runner runs while a reliever must pitch like a sprinter sprints. Just because you are good at one does not mean you will be good at another. We will need to trade one of these arms come July, figuring out the correct one is the challenge.

I'd rather have the problem of seeing who can adjust to being a reliever than getting an injury and suddenly be struggling like last postseason.

So how long do you think it will be before they start turning down the humidity readings in the humidor. 3.58 runs per game would normally get you laughed at instead of battling for the league lead.

Since coming back from the IL, Jose is hitting .409 with a 1.337 OPS. The team is also 7-0 during that timeframe.

To put things in perspective one only has to look at the averages of all the high priced free agents we passed on. Makes one feel even better about Mr Pena

I wasn't super concerned this year because it hadn't been that many games before his IL stint. I will say that I'm happily surprised at how good he looks now. I thought maybe he would struggle for a bit longer before getting going. You can see him trying to spray the ball around better, and he's running well. Yuli is the one I'm losing faith in.

I'm concerned about this pitcher we're facing with the Twins tomorrow.
