I feel like Bregman has become my favorite over the last two years of having to defend him from people complaining when injuries caused his production to drop from "MVP caliber" to "above-average."
Did ya'll know that Bregman's wRC+ was the 10th best in baseball among all third baseman during the 2020-2021 seasons when he was injured multiple times? Literally a top 10 player at his position while injured.

If you’re getting paid $20 million plus per year, there are certain expectations. I was a big proponent of bringing back Correa, but when he was hurt often in the past, I felt the complaints against him were valid. |

If you’re getting paid $20 million plus per year, there are certain expectations. I was a big proponent of bringing back Correa, but when he was hurt often in the past, I felt the complaints against him were valid. 7th in our uber lineup, maybe. But he was still considerably above-average offensively. It's interesting, Altuve is quite possibly a future HoFer, but Bregman is actually off to a better start for his career in a lot of metrics than Altuve was. |
