One thing that is impressive about Pena is his ability to change a game, even in the midst of a slump. He has now shown 3 times in his early career that he can deliver even in the midst of a 0-10 slump. He did it in the walk-off HR game against Toronto at home, the big homerun in game 1 at Toronto, and last night to make our lead a little more comfortable. In all those games he was having an 0’fer before the big HR.

Another thing I like about Peña is that unlike Carlos, he doesn’t toot his own horn on the field. I hope that doesn’t change much over the years, but for right now I really enjoy it. It’s part of why I hated Carlos Gomez. It’s like dude, you’re not that great so don’t flip your bat just because you drew a walk.

A few awards and a championship will change a lot of guys though.

The other game when Adolis homered off Odorizzi, he stomped on home plate. It’s like bro, you’re batting like .200. Chill.

They need to attract hotter fans. Where hot girls go, men will follow.
