Morton vs. Clevinger
Undefeated Morton against the mouthy Clevinger. Would be nice to beat him again and see what else he says. Tough game/series though.
32-18. Currently 2 games ahead of Seattle for the division (they're actually doing really well since losing Cano...) and 2.5 games behind Boston for the best overall record. 1st in run differential at +110.
Top-5 WAR players:
1. Verlander 3.1 2. Cole 2.2 3. Correa 2.0 4. Altuve 1.8 5. Springer/Morton 1.6
On the road again so hopefully Altuve and Correa can explode and get this road trip off on a good start.

I'm with you. Altuve and Correa need to explode on this long road trip. Altuve hit pretty well at home recently, but we desperately need CC to get hot. Should be a lower scoring game tonight. Hopefully we can scratch out 4-5 runs which should be enough.

Either/both is due for a huge game and/or a very nice long hot streak. Altuve is looked much better the past week or so, but it would still be nice to see a little more power and/or keep stealing bases. It would be fun to see us maintain the aggressive baserunning even if it can be a little frustrating sometimes.
Correa is actually right on pace for about his career numbers offensively. He's currently at a 138 OPS+ compared against a 137 OPS+. However he is on pace for career highs in HRs, RBIs, and Runs. If you offered me a season of an .850 OPS with 100+ RBI from Correa I'd take it every time. Obviously we'd like to see him improve upon 2017, but before his injury in 2017 he was on an MVP pace. That can be hard to duplicate unless your name is Trout.

I'd love to see them get to Mouthvenger early and often.

Correa showed signs of life yesterday after being clueless for about a week. Maybe it continues on this trip....playing in Cleveland and NY, we need to put runs on the board

I'l feel better about him when I see him do a hard checked swing without wincing.

Would prefer Kemp in CF and Davis in LF with Marisnick as late inning defensive replacement for Davis.

Bregman took a close pitch, but he's been doing well.
Correa is just guessing.

One redeeming thing about that first inning was that Clevinger had to throw 20 pitches. And we know that getting to their pen early sharply increases the odds of winning.

Correa jumps over Altuve and throws him out. Never seen that before.

This lineup is very dependent on the top three batters. It should go well through the third.

Let's see if Fresno did Jake any good. Maybe he just needed a taco and some good luvvin from those California girls.

The way Clevinger is wiggling around out there makes me wonder if the boy has worms. He is a little wormy looking.

I swear I would rather see the Astros face a power pitcher than a guy that throws crap like Clevinger does.

Clevinger pitch count over 40 now.
I like the idea of leading off an inning with Kemp.

Another 20+ pitch inning. Long term strategy looks great.
