Only two Astros who haven’t K’d today. Altuve and Kemp. Three cheers for the little guys.

Bauer has averaged 108 pitches per start this season, so he probably gets to start the 7th inning. Indians bullpen offers lots of scoring opportunities in innings 7-9.

Cole with a little dust off of EE as payback for Springer.

Cole looks good now. Last pitch at 100mph! Do you start the 7th with him?

Cole looks good now. Last pitch at 100mph! Do you start the 7th with him? I'd let him go to 110 pitches, or until he allows a baserunner. Devo in the pen to start the inning.

All time consecutive ABs with a hit is 12. Altuve currently at 9.

Yep. Bauer picked the right guy to hang one to.

I think Hinch knew how bad the players wanted to beat Bauer

93 AB’s for Marisnick with 45 K’s.
Congrats Altuve for 9 hits in a row.

I hope they've learned their lesson starting Jake... I see the logic in not starting two weak outfielders like Davis & Kemp at the same time, but in a game vs Bauer/Greinke or similar, maximizing offense is critical. Maybe Davis wouldn't have gotten a hit off Bauer, but I think his chances would have been better.

Maybe Smith is the first pitcher to relieve Cole if the Astros are still behind in the score. Saving Devo for tomorrow might be a good idea.

Kemp in CF and Davis in LF would have been just fine.

So Cole actually ended up with more Ks than IP and a WHIP under 1. Pretty good start. Should be 2-2.

Big mistake, I think, bringing Bauer out for the 8th. He was already losing command in the 7th.
Shows how much confidence Francona has in his bullpen.

What the hell happened to the Diamondbacks. They're hitting .213 as a team even though they were 21-8 at one point
