Looks like Brantley may be a waste of money I never expected more than 120 games from him. If he gives us even 100 games with offense similar to last year, I'll be good with it. |

Dirden is 0-7 with 6 Ks in his last two games. I’m thinking the kid blew his chance at making the OD roster.
Both Yanier Diaz (DH) and Korey Lee (C) are in the lineup today. They have both hit the ball well this spring. I’m beginning to think that maybe both of them will make the OD roster. They could both be used at DH and Yanier can play some first base. Maybe Dusty would let them catch a game occasionally.
Still no word out of Miami as to whether they will add Yuli and/or Iglesias to their roster. Both guys had the right to opt out of their minor league deals yesterday since neither of them were added to the 40-man roster by the end of the day Friday.

Lee hasn't been mentioned much as far as guys I'd like to see get some at-bats. It wouldn't be hard to topple Maldy on the depth chart if he works hard and stays focused. At least in theory |

He likely has another solid year and then walks. Meanwhile even in a down offensive year Straw posted 2.0 WAR; he'll probably rebound to a 3.0+ WAR player and might steal 40 bases with the new rules, and he's now signed to a long-term, team-friendly extension. If Diaz pans out then it's a win for us, but if not then Straw a few years of a middle reliever isn't great in terms of raw value. |

Lee could pinch hit and catch a game or two a week. While with the big club both Diaz and Lee could be mentored on the finer points of the catcher position by our resident guru Maldy. |
