I know he is not an All-Star, but I think he has proven he is an above average hitter and plus fielder. I think Chas is a fine hitter to have in the 7 spot. You are right though on 8-9 though, awful. |

I'm going to hope that we won't see Dubon and Maldonado both in the same game too often. Maybe we'll see some Maldonado-Hensley Diaz-Dubon tandems instead.

Chas will never be more than he is, I believe we can safely say. But, what he is now is perfectly fine, especially while he is under arbitration and fairly cheap.
He now has over 700 plate appearances with the following line: .250/.326/.425 .751 OPS 109 OPS+
That 109 OPS+ means he's at around 9% above-average offensively. If he hovers around that line while playing solid defense, he's a more than suitable CFer. A realistic goal for him would be to maintain his walk rate from last year while carrying an AVG closer to 2021 (say .250-.260). That would put him at around a .345ish OBP.
