Thank goodness we have Maldonado in the game to do what he does. Another pedestrian showing by the bats with him in the order Maldy is making us eat it. |

Some observations from a guy who doesn't do GDTs very often: 1) Garcia has to keep the ball out of the middle of the plate up in the zone, although he did have some bad luck tonight with a squib a bloop 2) Abreu needs to start showing some power 3) Meyers is not a MLB hitter. Next to no plate discipline. Until Altuve and Brantley show up we're going to be more up and down than usual. I'm concerned about the expectations for Altuve as the season goes on. Just observing over the years how hand injuries make it difficult for a hitter to return to form |

The team needs to get a bit more serious about manufacturing runs. Besides Chas and Tucker, no one tries to take an extra base or makes an effort to move runners. Tucker and Maldy led off innings with hits and didn’t make it to third base.
I know it’s early in the season, but Peña and Abreu have had some god-awful AB’s. Without Altuve and Brantley, these guys really need to look better in the box.

I was stuck at a wedding and didn't really get to follow along. Looks like more of the inconsistency with Garcia and the offense though.
Hope Chas is okay...

The thumb represents about 80% of the usefulness of the entire hand. If anyone doubts it then try binding your thumb to your hand and then try to manipulate door knobs, car keys, tools, etc. |

Hope Chas isnt out too long. Without him and Altuve the team has no spark plug. Pena has shown that he is not that guy.
