That's because Dusty is an idiot and doesn't make good use of his resources. Put Dubon in RF for a game and have Hensley play 2B. Not that I think Tucker needs a day off. He's in his prime and healthy. It's just a slump. Give Abreu a damn day off. |

I like Tucker a lot and he’s a potential franchise player with some fine-tuning, but I don’t know how he does it with those all-or-nothing swings. Bregman and Yordan have struggled at times, but they have easy fluid cuts on pitches. Tucker’s is kind of like swinging from ground to sky. I can’t imagine how he can hit a high strike with regularity.
Abreu just looks hopeless. Good thing there’s only two seasons left on that deal.

I've sat there a couple of times. The only drawback is the inability to see action in the deep LF corner/wall area. I usually do field boxes or mezzanine. |

Glad it worked out (not that it ended up mattering), but I almost turned the TV off when Dusty let Maldonado hit for himself in the 8th inning down three runs. There is just absolutely no excuse for a non-move like that. None.

It just doesn't make any sense. We're struggling for offense, and we're routinely keeping a hitting prospect out of the lineup despite all the evidence showing he should be playing more. We don't give Abreu a day off so Diaz can play. We don't let him DH. He catches one day every 6-7 games. You knew this was going to happen once they decided to resign Dusty. He has a Hard On for Maldy and he doesn't know how to use the younger players efficiently. A good part of that is Dusty being a players' coach and letting the starters decide who their battery mate is. If the team's in a funk resulting from it, one would think he'd manage against his instincts at some point. Only reason Yainer and Hunter are battery mates is they graduated through the organization together
