Ahh Devenski. I really liked Devenski and he just completely lost it. Something Sherwin and I never understood about you. Devo fit the mold for Houston fans….they fall for anyone with a clever nickname or a gimmick and then treat the player like he’s Cy Young//Ted Williams. |

His first two years with us he was 12-9 with a 2.38 ERA and 5 Saves as a set-up man. What was his clever nickname or gimmick? |

First two hits of the 9th were all on Pressly. The next two I thought were on the defense being out of position, especially the hit to center.

So Brantley is sore and being sent for further evaluation. Chas has a sore back. Abreu is supposedly hurting but they don't have any further information. Which him playing hurt would explain how he went from good ST and first week of season to absolute garbage. They need to figure it out and get it fixed. I don't like anyone to be hurt of course, but if Abreu has an injury, that might honestly be good news at this point. At least then everyone, himself included, can tell ourselves that maybe he'll be back to normal once whatever it is heals. |

Devenski's gimmick was his changeup, and his ability to get LHB out with it. Everyone called it the Circle of Death. Until it circled back and killed his career.
Devo failed for the same reason a lot of Strom's pitchers failed. He forgot his mechanics and delivery trying to remember where Stromfather wanted him to locate and in what count, and eventually started tipping his pitches as a result

I guess Diaz would hopefully get more playing time... Diaz and Hensley both have legit offensive upside and could use the consistent ABs. Of course, Abreu being healthy and productive is ideal, but there would be some silver linings to the news that he will miss significant time with an injury. |
