We only have 4 hitters that would be considered league average or better right now (Pena, Chas, Tucker, Yordan)... Frankly, it's amazing that we have a winning record at all.

I remember OlPapa was inclined to believe Dusty simply didn't like Yainer cause he's still holding a grudge over the Straw trade. I don't know if I agree with him, but Salazar being on the roster could explain that

He's made more money in the last two months than he has in his entire baseball career combined, plus not having to do minor league travel, plus the pension guaranteed to everyone who spends a single day in the Majors, etc. I guarantee he's as happy as he's ever been. |

I don't know if I buy that (unless there was something at the time that I've forgotten that indicated Dusty was POed at the trade). I think he needs to find more PT for Diaz, but if the pitchers are insistent that they want Maldy and Dusty feels like he can't sit Abreu, then he is in kind of a tough spot in terms of getting him in there. I don't see the harm in giving Abreu a couple days off a week though. Honestly what they should do is send Abreu to AAA. They never will because of his ballyhooed veteran status, but he's got all his options left and AAA is just a 45-60 minute drive away. Let Abreu try to fix himself there instead of continuing to cripple the heart of the order, and give Yainer an actual shot to play every day. |

Lets just hope this is a game that gets them going. I would move Bregman out of the two spot until he figures it out. Hitting .203 is not getting it done with almost a third of the season
