Sunday could be an interesting day for Houston sports fans. If the Texans were not starting their 3-4 string offensive tackles I think they could actually win this game with Pittsburg. The starting left tackle in this game is as big as a glacier and moves about as fast. Looking at the PFF match up stats they look good except at those two positions. Unfortunately that could cause this whole game to swing. Let's hope that DeMeco has a plan to cover these two holes.

Getting hard to not be excited about the Texans. Still plenty to work on, but the pieces are obviously there.

After some really awful losses to Atlanta and Carolina (we'd be 6-4 if those go the other way...), I almost decided not to watch this one and do something else. Wow. Things really are finally looking up.

Give DeMeco a couple of seasons, and the Texans should have a Top 5 Defense. And then the Texans will be legit playoff contenders.

Maybe it was because Bowles decided not to have his guys blitz as often. |

CJ is legit. That was a crushing interception. A lesser rookie might crack and give up after that, but he looked just fine immediately after. What a pick.
Man this team would be 7-2 if those awful losses went the other way. I doubt they make a deep run this year but 2024 should be really fun.

After this past season of baseball, it was good to see a Houston team respond to adversity and win for a change. |

There are few things in life that does not test a man's character than adversity. Stroud shook it off like water off of a ducks back. As to those two losses I have a little different take. A case could be made that the team needed those two losses, both the coaches and the players. Watching those two games in the film room opened up the mind and showed everyone who was paying attention what they needed to do to win going forward. No one likes getting beat and having a good honest look at what caused it is a great motivator. |
