The trade deadline is an interesting time of the year. GMs are forced to face the music and balance the future versus the possibilities of the current year. Brown has to weigh the legacy of the possibility of a repeat championship with the wholesale stripping of the farm system to get us there. This team needs a lot of parts to repeat. Some will come back from the injury list but there are other parts that will have to be traded for. Quite a few parts and that means quite a few prospects going out the door and the realities of a rebuild from scratch start to look like 2010. Unless somebody finds a genie in a bottle we look like we have some tough calls to make.

4.5 games back now because the Rangers are just sweeping right through the part of their schedule that looked like it might finally give them problems, and meanwhile we can't beat the Rockies on their bullpen day after putting up a three spot in the first with our second-best healthy pitcher on the bump and Maldonado not in the lineup.
I mean just give up at this point. If this is it, just sell off some pieces and load up for next year.
