We need to end this madness of horrible team base running People would get chewed out in rec league softball for watching the outfield instead of the base coaches. I can’t believe this is an issue on a major league team. The point of the coaches is to make sure the runner busts his ass without worrying about what’s going on out there because all that does is slow you down. If there was a runner at first in Tucker’s way, that’s fine but there was no one at first plus it was two outs. You could tell he only ran hard after the error. We can get mad when they strike out or don’t advance a runner, but basic baserunning mistakes are pretty bad. The pitchers on our team need to D it up too. Oftentimes, you see them not covering first base on defense when Abreu or Singleton have to range for a ball. The throw by Javier to third base was a joke. |
