Maldonado pitching, just in case anyone who turned it off wants to turn it back on and see if you can literally blind yourself by watching something on TV.

Why is everyone giving up? Astros are only down two touchdowns and a field goal.

The Rangers are on a six game losing streak and somehow we've managed to drop into third place during that opportunity.

These meltdown games have been way too common this season.

“We knew they could hit and when the hits started coming, it’s hard to stop,” Baker said. “It appears that him and [catcher] Yainer [Diaz] weren’t on the same page for a while. You could sort of tell they were out of sync. That’s the hardest he’s been hit this year.”
Baker trying to put some of this on Diaz.... Give me a break.

Good. Maldy on a 99-yard return on a INT. Who would win a foot race between Maldy and Carl Mauck

Our ex-boys CC and Smitty on both sides of the ledger can help wipe the ugly loss out today.

Rangers have lost seven games in a row and we're still not in first place. Absolutely disgusted with this team right now. What an incredible choke job.

If not for Tucker’s magical grand slam recently, they’d have not much to show after the Break. It seems like their hope for wins lies in blowing out their opponents. Like I said before, they’re 17-17 in 1-run games and 1-8 in extras. If the game is close, the edge goes to their opponents. Pitching, hitting, and defense are all suspect.

It's very easy to look at the negative, but I think we need to appreciate what they've dealt with this year and where they're still at in the standings despite the struggles.
1. Half a season worth of Altuve at best, including the first month of the season. 2. Ditto Yordan for a good chunk of time during the early part of the season. 3. 2 primary starting pitchers out for the year. 4. A third primary starting pitcher missing about half the season. 5. Mismanagement of young position players by Dusty. 6. Massive slumping at 1B all season long despite investing significant money.
Yet despite all of that, we're one game out of first place with about 30 games to go, and some of those games are against Texas and Seattle. The season has not gone the way we wanted, but we're still on pace for 90 wins and a playoff spot. Positives:
1. Altuve and Tucker are doing Altuve and Tucker things. 2. Chas and Diaz have been huge offensive boosts. (And Dusty is playing them more.) 3. Bregman has been having his typical 2nd half surge. 4. JV looks good. 5. The main bullpen guys have mostly looked very good the last month or so despite the frequent use, even Montero.
Really the main issue is that we need to get the starting pitching back on track. I don't know what combination of it is mental, mechanics, fatigue, etc. but the inconsistent offense won't matter if Framber and Javier can't turn it around for the postseason. I personally think that our pitchers are gassed. The veterans have seen a ton of postseason usage since making the big leagues, and the rookies and young pitchers are on the verge of throwing more than they ever have. Same with the bullpen. We leaned on them all postseason long last year and then even more heavily most of this year.
I still think we hold on and take the division since we're due for a hot streak. I think that if we can get hot now towards the end of the season it could carry into the playoffs at just the right time too. Plus, that record in close games and extra innings is due for some balancing towards our favor, I believe.

We’re really spoiled as Astros fans A decade ago we only won 51 games, with our best player being Jason Castro and our best pitcher being Bud Norris. Since then, we have: 2 Championships 4 Pennants (And one win away from another championship.) 6 Consecutive ALCS Appearances (including one win away from another pennant at least.) 1 MVP 2 WS MVP 1 AS MVP 3 CY 1 ROY Multiple GGs, SSs, All-Stars, and Top-20 MVP Top-20 CY finishes. 1 Future HoFer (And maybe a couple more...) 2 Kids (That's just me.) We've been very spoiled indeed.
