It seemed like every single break went against the Stros this series. These series can count for home field advantage at the end of the season, but that doesn't mean much of having the home field advantage. At this point I'm just hoping they wanted to pound us in the dirt so bad they were willing to draw blood. If the team thinks it can't win without Maldonado then we have a problem

That is the story so far in this series, the Yankees running up the pitch count on the starters, Stros hacking away. Replace “Yankees” with a random visiting team. This has been a thing for a long time.

I wonder if Dusty is watching?

I wonder if Dusty is watching? Yes, and probably laughing.

This has been a thing for a long time. If you have a starting staff that cannot throw strikes, it doesn't matter who you are playing, even the Bad News Bears.

Our starters were decent overall (albeit they didn't pitch deep). It was the bullpen and main offensive guys (outside of Altuve) that were awful.

If you have a starting staff that cannot throw strikes, it doesn't matter who you are playing, even the Bad News Bears. In the last 33 games at home, the Astros are 7-26. This goes beyond the SP’s. We have an offense that’s allergic to hitting with RISP.

I don't know how you don't walk Juan Soto in the 9th. I just have no idea. Judge has never been able to hit against us, Soto is on fire, and is .500 career against Hader. Just insane.

I’ve noticed this team rarely adjusts. If they try beating their opponents outside, they go oppo. If they get offspeed constantly, they wait for it. They gear up for heaters. Our hitters seem to constantly get beaten by the same pitches and location over and over. I have no idea why they value Cintrón so much.

We have an offense that’s allergic to hitting with RISP. Obviously if you don't score it doesn't matter how good the starting pitching is. This series loss exposed the Stros in all areas of not performing, against less then superstar pitching staff. Framber is a concern, a guy that the first part of last season was in line for the CY implode. He is back to having the one bad inning and either losing it mentally or physically. So, the Stros are 7-26 in their last home games, it looks like the "House of Horrors" is not "The Trop", but MMP. This article explains the weekend well. www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb/4-houston-astros-to-blame-for-season-opening-sweep-to-yankees/ar-BB1kTofw?ocid=msedgntp&cvid=1bace3fb445b4dc0b31fee01c4c8be4a&ei=22

I like Hader a lot but fortifying a point of strength instead of needs like CF, SP, and middle relief was crazy. Might as well bring in Bauer.
