Abreu is just a free out at this point. The new Maldy.

Something has to be done about Abreu. I know everyone hates to waste money, but we're wasting money anyways. Might as well try to not waste money AND get zero production.

I think we baby arms too much now. No more long toss, no weighted balls, etc. Pitch clock and overemphasis on velocity. Maybe spin too. We were trending this way before the pitch clock though.

Oh I don't like it, but we were seeing weaker arms and injuries from pitchers before last year. If anything, I agree with Sherwin and Verlander that we're putting too much emphasis on maximizing velocity and spin rate too often and too young.

If we can come out of this with a split, I'll be pretty pleased all things considered. Yes, we should have won it if Hader hadn't blown the save, but the bullpen seems to be settling down.

If I had to blame any "1" single thing it would be youth travel ball. You have 8 year olds throwing as hard as they can, week after week. Month after month, year after year. I am as guilty as anyone else, but I believe that the cash cow of travel baseball is ruining the arms.

Well there goes Altuve's hit streak. Mostly awful looking ABs tonight for him and Chas (and Abreu as always).

Three hits for Bregman. Another encouraging sight.

Yeah this is a big win with how the game started and the early deficit. Hopefully they can build off these two wins and get some real momentum going.

You gotta feel for Henley. He was not good, but man that flair to CF and then his defense abandoning him just set him up for failure. I hope even if just out of the bullpen he can get another look before they send him back down so he doesn't have to just sit on this.
All things consider, a split is huge though. Huge. Now sweep the woeful Royals like you should, because it's Rangers and Braves right after that. Man the start of this schedule is brutal.

The glass half full look is that we're + on runs scored/allowed, three of the losses were one run games (usually 50/50 coin flips over a large sample size), and we're 4-3 over these last two series. If the bullpen doesn't have those ridiculous meltdowns out of nowhere, we might be 1st in the division right now.
