Great game. Maaaan it could have been a sweep.
Singleton has just three strikeouts in his last 20 AB, wow. You know, compared to last season, his BB and K rates were nearly identical coming into this game (12.4% vs. 12.7% BB, 21.9% vs. 21.8% K). The difference is BAbip though; .193 last year, .314 this year. Some of the projection models actually have him as a league-average hitter the rest of the way. Which is not exciting from a 1B...unless Jose Abreu used to be your 1B.
Meyers has a 1.024 OPS in the last 7 games they've let him play in...

I may not be Mickey Mantle, but I'm sure not Harold Baines either. I'd say I should be in the Paul Molitor area.

Paul Molitor is who I think Altuve compares favorably to. Altuve has more power, but Molitor stole more bases. Percentages, Hits, and Runs are all very similar at the same time in their careers. Also both are excellent postseason performers. |
