Need to score before they get to a couple of their dominant relievers. Don't let Rooker beat you and we'll probably be okay.

Rooker isn't the only one. Abraham Toro, who we traded away all six of his club control years for Graveman and Montero, is hitting .299/.351/.460 for the A's, and is a third baseman, who could have replace Bregman next year buuuuuuut whatever, who needs prospects right?
Between those two, Langeliers and Bleday, they can score some runs...

Between those two, Langeliers and Bleday, they can score some runs... Well you have to remember what we were getting. Yes, we lost Toro, but it wasn't just about Graveman and Montero... It was about winning another pennant with Graveman's help and winning another championship with Montero's help. Both of which had good postseasons for us and contributed well down the stretch runs. I would trade a prospect every year if it helped get a deep postseason run. And you know Toro is not the answer at 3B. He's having a fluke start to the season which you can see in his Hard hit rate and line drive rate being below his career averages, yet he has a .346 BABIP compared to his .245 average BABIP. It's not going to last. He's just another Eric Bruntlett. P.S. They've scored less runs than us and we all agree that we've been pretty inconsistent at bad offensively.... So they're even worse than us at it. (Not that I'm saying we should take them for granted.)

Rather than it being about Toro, it was the first in a line of offseasons where they failed to address the bullpen in free agency, saw it start to bite them, and then had to deplete the farm some more to fix it in season. We got like 20 innings out of Graveman last year and he missed the playoffs, now he's missing all this season. Go look up what Korey Lee is doing for Chicago... when will they just bring in some FA relievers instead of letting the bullpen blow up and then having to deal prospects to try to patch it?

I agree that we probably should have spent more money on free agent relievers, but it's also pretty hard to argue with the results over the last several years. Besides, you can find prospects all across the league that teams have given up and they find success. The bottom line is winning though. We traded Lee, but we also traded for Diaz. You lose some and you get some.

I was wondering where you’ve been?! My life has been hard. On April 10th one of my very best friends killed himself. We all thought he was living the perfect life. Vp of a bank, healthy family and such a great person. I coached with him for years and it kills me I couldn't help him when he needed it most.

I’ll say a prayer for your family and his family.
