I'm sure it's frustrating, but he's the ace, he's the $35 million dollar man, the leader, the Hall of Famer, etc. etc. He has the be the guy that overcomes in that situation. Instead he fell in love with his slightly-above-average velocity fastball and put the streak on the brink. Eh, you're just hard on him because you didn't like the Astros trading prospects for him. Of course I am. He came at a great cost. He needs to deliver. He failed to do so. People should live up to the roles their paid to do.

JV last year: 7-3 126 ERA+ And he had an ERA at just about 3 or below before the 5th inning today. He's been performing fine outside of the Yankees game.

Why is it wrong of me to point that out? He let his ego and frustration get the best of him and it's probably going to cost us this game.

I just think the vitriol you give him and not others is biased just because of the trade...not because of his actual results for us. It isn't his fault the trade happened.

I don't hate the guy. I like him, in fact. I call out bad play when I see it. And I do it from everyone. Framber is a headcase. Javier can't hardly get through five innings. Altuve runs the bases like a moron too often. Bregman goes cold too often and lollygags to 1B too much.

We all have our tendencies.

The guy who finds a way. He wasn't that guy tonight. We should be harder on Altuve. He's the face of the franchise. He leads off and sets the tone. If he's up their hacking like a dingbat, we should expect a lot more of him.

You cannot watch strike 3 to end the ballgame.

Olpapa has been gone from this world a year today. Never met the man but I am sure that if I had we would have been friends. One of the things I always appreciated about him was if he said something, I knew it was true.

Hopefully the offense remembers how to hit tomorrow. Hopefully, our Messianic answer to Dusty stops penciling in a punchless hitter at cleanup.

The offense failed JV yet again. And he failed today by allowing 4 runs in 4.2 IP. He’s not above reproach in all situations.

The at bat that gave up the HR at one point I was thinking he should walk the guy as he was locked in.

The at bat that gave up the HR at one point I was thinking he should walk the guy as he was locked in. I thought something similar. He threw him so many fastballs in a row. I thought it’s time to throw him an off speed pitch and if he walks him, so be it.

Absolutely awful. I mean just keep throwing fastballs right over the plate, epic Hall of Famer. Are you kidding me. Ballgame. Good job. You're blaming JV? The hitters gave up the 3-run HR, Corch?

The hitters gave up the 3-run HR, Corch? I'll take the offense only managing two runs as the primary reason for the loss.

Coming back to this thread and finding people actually agreeing with me for once? All Ill say is that you nailed Meyers. I had given up on him as a starter.
