"Brown, Joe Espada and Jeff Bagwell had a conversation yesterday about it, Brown said." Bagwell has just got to go. I hate it because what a great, important player. But he should not have the kind of influence he does. Why the focus on Bagwell when all three made the decision? I think people believe Bagwell has more importance than he does just because he help sign Abreu in between GMs. I have mentioned this in a past thread, but I have heard from people I know and trust who actually have sources inside the front office that Bagwell's influence is very real and very strong. A lot of former players know ownership and hang around and show up to Spring Training to coach guys and stuff. Bagwell's role is far beyond that. He was actually working in the front office frequently during Click's tenure, and his animosity with Click played a significant role in Click being ousted in the first place. He was known to argue with and even berate Click, including a specific "stick that in your [expletive] computer" tirade at one point. Crane started listening to Bagwell more and more, despite Click being the GM, and that helped sour the relationship between Click and Crane. Click getting just a one year extension offer after a WS win made it clear that Crane had shifted to Bagwell's side more completely, and so Click basically went eff it and got himself fired by going off to the media. He wasn't going to unofficially share his role with a former player who berates him and pishaw's any stats that weren't around when Bagwell was a kid. I don't blame him. Now who is one of the few guys in the room deciding who the next GM is, and the next manager is? Bagwell. So you're Brown, and you know Bagwell played a role in both getting your predecessor fired and you hired. You know he's the one who basically brought in this former All-Star hitter. How much influence do you feel like you have in that "conversation" that was had about Abreu, who Bagwell clearly loves, likely to the point of seeing himself in? If you don't think it's time, are you going to go against Bagwell, in your first full year on the job? Of course, it's possible Brown is on-board with it fully. I'm not convinced he's anything more than a glorified good scouting director at this point. But it is very clear to me that Bagwell has real, meaningful influence in the roster decisions of this organization, and has for a few years now, and the moves made by this front office during that time makes it clear that that influence is damaging. Abreu is a guy he got very personally involved in bringing in, but his influence is helping steer things generally as well.

We need this Arrighetti breakout to be legitimate in the worst way.

Why do they do this? Why do they wait for trouble to get someone loosening? You know he's not going the distance, so why not have someone, who you know you will eventually need, ready at the first sign of trouble? Instead you give them an opportunity to get back into it and damage Arrighetti's confidence if he gets blown up here.

I know he hit the HR, but Altuve continues to be mostly useless right now. Four horrible ABs after the HR.

He could have been just a little more aggressive, but he may have just needed more time to get out of the poverty Tampa Bay mindset. The things he did do were honestly (mostly) nice though. Giving up Myles Straw for Diaz because he believed in Meyers alone is looking incredible. And his draft classes are starting to show up (Loperfido, Arrighetti, McDermott (traded to Baltimore)), despite COVID and the penalties just destroying the amount of picks he had to work with. He only had 44 total picks as a GM; of those, several are already in the Majors and like 11-12 more are on top prospect lists. Wish he were still here. Montero and Jose Abreu wouldn't be I'd bet...

Let him go one more inning! I So much for letting him go one more inning. He had 6 good innings and now when he is tired he gives up runs in the 7th. So have kept it at 6 and him leave with a good outing and feeling.

If they bring Abru back up who gets the boot back to AAA? I would hope not Loperfido the way he has showed up.

So have kept it at 6 and him leave with a good outing and feeling. They knew he was in uncharted territory. Seeing a lineup for a third time. They knew he wasn't going the distance, so they weren't going to save a guy by not having someone warm up. Yet they had no one ready until it was bases loaded. Now his great outing blows up and he has to sit on that for a week. Just plain mismanagement.

Done the job so far. Brewers are good so just a series win is fine. Now sweep the Angels and A's and really get going.

OK, I was out for a while with being really sick. MY potassium was under 1.2 and it needs to be over 3.2. I was throwing up plain water along with Pneumonia. Trust me you don't want to have low Potassium, I ended up having to have three intervein solutions over three or four hours to even get close to 2.8. It was like they took a Hot Rod and shoved up my arm it burnt so bad.
Why hasn't Pressly and Harder pitched the last few games or it seems that way to me.
