I'm only pessimistic when he struggles because I want him to make the HoF. B. Unfortunately he's no longer having a great year. He's having a good year, bur it's his worst full year (not counting 2020) since 2013... At least from a percentages and strikeout standpoint. With 40+ games to go he has already set a career high in Ks, and his .790 OPS, while good, is a huge decline for him (40 points below his norm) if he doesn't pick it up soon. And it's mostly because his extra-base hits are way down for him. He's not even on pace for 30 Doubles. |

It's hard not to be impressed by Ort and Pressly could use a breather. I'd put Pressly on the 10-day IL to rest and promote Whitley. Let Ort be the 7th inning guy, and move Abreu to the 8th.

Turning on your boy Pressly? So negative! Of course not, Pressly has been great for us, and he's overall having a solid year. Since that huge blow up in April where he gave up 4 ER in just .1 innings, he's pitched in 45 games (20 Holds) with a 2.86 ERA. But he's given up a run in each of his last 4 outings and he obviously could use a break. Outside of 2020, he hasn't pitched in less than 50 games since 2015 and he's 35 years old now. Scott and him need some rest. |
