do you think Morton has worked out his control issues? I hope so! He is still pretty effective when he is wild, but the downfall is he only goes maybe 5 or 6 innings.

Borucki has nice numbers from 2016 till now in the minors. Has started 13 games at AAA this year with an ERA of 3.27.
In spring training, Borucki gave up an ugly 8 runs over 7.2 innings. That was the last time he faced major league hitting (to an extent).
Time for the Astros to give Borucki a good Hazing by Long Ball. After that, I wish him luck on his major league career. Except when he plays against the Astros.
If he's any good, maybe one day he'll come to Houston.

I hope so! He is still pretty effective when he is wild, but the downfall is he only goes maybe 5 or 6 innings. It seems like our starters are showing some wear and tear. A lot of the "wear and tear" is caused by the offense doing nothing at home and forcing the starters to continue pitching under the pressure of knowing they need to shut the opponent down completely in order to have a chance to win. The total lack of production at home by Springer and Correa ( most of the time) is taking its toll.

If Morton can complete the first inning our 5 starters will have 500 innings pitched.

do you think Morton has worked out his control issues? I think so. He usually finds a groove sooner or later. I just hope it's sooner.

The total lack of production at home by Springer and Correa ( most of the time) is taking its toll. the production at home is really puzzling We have some young guys who appear to be wearing themselves out away from the park when we play at home. I doubt if it's coincidental that Springer and Correa hammer the ball on the road and come home and go in the tank. George is in about a 3-45 slump and Correa is not much better. Our offense is great on the road and horrible at home.

I'd imagine that these good looking, athletic dudes are not new to getting nookie. That's a fairly ridiculous implication you guys are hinting at. These boys have been in cheerleader puss since they were in middle school.

Left-hander Ryan Borucki (MLB Debut) vs Charlie Morton (9-1) Lord help us. I know that you, like me, have been a Colts/Astros fan for many years. I have witnessed many a poor showing by our guys over the years when facing a pitcher who was making his ML debut.

I think Springer breaks through tonight. I expect at least 2 good hits.

These boys have been in cheerleader puss since they were in middle school. You are right on all points, but, they weren't living with it back in those days and had it readily available and begging for attention. I am sure there are other reasons for the large discrepancy in hitting and run productiion between home and road games, but, this one makes sense. The other is that some may have a tendency to try to jack the ball into the Crawford boxes at home. Seems like opposing teams hit more opposite field homers at MMP than the Astros.

I think Springer breaks through tonight. I expect at least 2 good hits. All depends on the mental state. Over the previous few games, he appears to be trying not to get out instead of attacking the ball. He is at his best when he is hitting the ball up the middle and to right-center. He has enough power to drive the ball to all fields. He does that on the road and then comes home and looks clueless.

Correa listed as day to day. Might see a day off today. Off day would do him and Springer some good........didn't know Carlos had an injury of any kind.

Rotoworld says Correa has back stiffness. That he’s probably not starting tomorrow afternoon either.
