If you would have told me before the series against Boston that we would take 2/3, and rally a comeback in the third game, I probably wouldn't have believed you. I'll definitely take the 2 out of 3 against the best record in the league and I feel optimistic if they continue to play like this.

But was Altuve safe?

YES....replays showed the hand on the plate before a tag and I didn't see evidence a tag was made unless it was like they said on ESPN.....a lace of the mitt could have grazed him. He was safe.

If they won two out of three with Correa and Altuve barely doing anything, imagine the possibilities. However, they’re running out of time waiting on their contributions.

We need to go get a sweep in Detroit.

I try to look at all replays as unbiasedly as I can. My initial thoughts to it seeing it live was SAFE. Upon watching the replay, some of the angles made it look like he got the tag on him, while the other angles made it appear as if he didn't. I do not believe, based on the replays we saw, that there was undisputed evidence to reverse the call.
This is reminiscent of the call at the plate a few weeks back (against Oakland??? I can't remember) where the call was reversed and we got screwed. I do not believe, based on the replays we saw, there was indisputable evidence to reverse that call.

I think the call yesterday was actually more disputable than the one in Oakland. In the outfield camera, it appeared Laureano was safe and Maldonado’s tag was late. As Tim showed us from the one picture, Altuve’s hand was clearly on the plate while León had distance from his glove to Altuve. When you have the ESPN and Astros crews both agreeing Altuve was safe (contrary to the instance in Oakland), I think signs point to a botched call.

At the start of the series I thought that if we won 2 it was a great weekend, then after we won 2 I was disappointed that we lost the third. The thing is though against guys like the Red Sox you can not miss out on scoring opportunities. We did well the first two games and fell back yesterday. You could sense that after we failed to score run#6 that the tide had turned.

I'm very happy as well with taking 2 of 3 in Boston. I am however bummed that the A's will not let up and lose a game.

Now that I think about, the ESPN announcers saying that he was safe should have been enough evidence to over turn it. 🤣😂🤣

I'd be happier just winning the series if I didn't know that we had a sweep taken from us by a horrible umpiring decision.

“I don’t need any more looks at it. My first look was good enough. I talked to MLB today, and they’re going to do a thorough review and take a look at the process. I still think they got it wrong. I think it’s unfortunate because the dynamic of the game changes a little bit. It might not have changed the outcome. There was still plenty of game left. To get an out/safe call wrong is one thing. To get one that takes a run off the board is a killer. They have assured me they’re going to look at the process, how it all went down, why it took so long, and ultimately why the decision was made. I need clear and convincing evidence to be able to trust the system.”

Hinch My take.........replay officials didn't have the balls to overturn the call against the Red Sox at Fenway after the Astros had won the first two games and a safe call here may lead to them sweeping the series.

Definition of Terms
A TAG is the action of a fielder in touching a base with his body while holding the ball securely and firmly in his hand or glove; or touching a runner with the ball, or with his hand or glove holding the ball (not including hanging laces alone), while holding the ball securely and firmly in his hand or glove.

At first I thought that oh well it was close. Then it occurred to me that he was initially called safe so in order to over turn the original call they had to have solid proof that the call was in error. From everything I have looked at so far there has not been any proof that the original call was in error. If anything everything shows that he was safe. So what was it that they saw. This should be interesting, good that Hinch has keep up the pressure.

Can't let one botched call ruin things. We had more chances to score and didn't do it. We still took two out of three in Boston, and I think it built confidence for the team. Boston is not unbeatable. Once you get through their 1-4 hitters they're not that scary.
