The Red Sox, Yankee’s and Indians will all be hard to beat in the playoffs. We barely got past the Yankees last year and they are a better team this year.

Luhnow will come through at trade deadline. I agree. He has blocked prospects, and non-contending teams will have expiring contracts, it's got to happen.

Wow. I just looked at mlb.com’s revised Top 30 Astros prospects rankings and Garrett Stubbs was dropped from #8 to #24. He was #8 on May 2nd, is batting .348 and has thrown out 5 of 12 runners attempting to steal. I wonder why the big drop in his ranking.

How excited should we be about this Taylor Jones guy? Possible real deal or just another Jon Kemmer?

Correa's home/road splits are absurd I blame his fiancee. She's obviously doing something to make him tired or distracted while he's in Houston. But as this is a family-oriented forum, I won't speculate further.

Maybe he's getting "pointers" from Verlander.

The Yankees have old starters who really are mediocre at best. The BoSox have brittle starters. The Astros have no designated hitter and no closer. I think we have a better chance at fixing the dh at the deadline and using the formula that got us the title last year as far as the closer goes. The Yankees and Boston can not fix their weaknesses. I like our chances.

At the very least, the Astros need to get Herrera by the deadline.
Promote White to take over DH and use Davis as the fall-back.
If an affordable 4th outfielder is available (Markakis? Adam Jones?), pick him up too. If not, one of Tucker or Fisher should work out by September.

Best I can tell he hasn’t played a game of pro ball yet.

If he hasn't played a game, he can have the best potential of any prospect, and those who rank players can't be wrong...

If he hasn't played a game, he can have the best potential of any prospect, and those who rank players can't be wrong... That is why most, myself included, tend to over rank prospects that are having great success in the minors....so many players hit the ceiling at AA or AAA, and never make it in the bigs....

I don't watch ESPN like I have in the past... It seems to me that anything sports related is just trying to drive traffic to their sites/shows... Anything that can help that effort gets done all the time... All the top 50/100 lists, best team ever, etc...

The hardest decision for a GM... pick the guy who is the star, and trade the ones who won't make it...

I am not going to get too excited about him just yet. I thought Kemmer might be a good 4th/5th OF at some point... Oh well... I see that Nick Hernandez was placed on the 7 day DL on April 5th... I guess he is still injured...

It looks like Kemmer is going to max out at AAA. He is in his third year at AAA. Last time I checked he was hitting around the Mendoza line and had less than 3 ABs per strikeout.
