Who would you rank as our biggest bust ever? Jon Singleton was basically dubbed our future first baseman before he played a game in the big leagues. After that first home run, he’s basically just been collecting checks.

After that first home run, he’s basically just been collecting checks. I wonder if he took that deal because he knew that he didn’t have the drive to become a great MLB player? Springer bet on himself and didn’t take the deal and is going to command big money soon and he earned it.

Josh Rojas is batting .385 at AA since being promoted from A Advanced where he batted .311. He has played at all four infield positions and in left field this season. He has stolen 13 bases and has not been thrown out attempting to steal thus far in 2018.

How legit is Ferguson? Is he another minor league star, but will not transcend into the majors?

Meanwhile.., as we continue to watch Gattis grounding out weakly or striking out in practically every at-bat, JD Davis is on a 8 game hitting streak in which he is 16-31 with a home run and 11 RBI.

I don’t know what to make of Ferguson. He struggled a bit after being promoted to AAA last season, but has come back strong this year. He has been successful at every level of the minors.

You're right...I have no idea, outside of $6M, why the Astros keep trotting out Gattis....It is not like his outs are just unlucky, one of those BABIP things....and they are more than just strike outs, they are suck outs.....Promote Davis or White....DL Gattis, let get his head on straight, Lord knows that can be taken figuratively and literally for Evan...

Maybe Evan is building an Arc, and his head is elsewhere...he has the beard...be aware when bats, if he suddenly he is not in an Astros uniform, he is in robes...When do the Astros next play the Angels?

Astros start a series vs the Angels in Anaheim on May 14th. Would be a short trip from Fresno to Anaheim for White and/or Davis.

I have tried to make sense of not trading Marisnick and Gattis out for White and Davis for a couple of weeks now. The only thing that comes to mind is that Davis and White are building trade value as they sit in Fresno and tear things up. If they are brought up and disappoint then there goes the trade value. Both of those guys together at the rate that they are producing could be a big part of the trade for a solid bullpen guy. Meanwhile Alvarez is also above 300 now.

What I have tried to make sense of is the FO decision to send Davis to AAA and keep Fisher on the Astros, but have Fisher ride the bench in favor of Marisnick. Fisher has started only 5 of the 21 games the Astros have played since Davis was sent down. Marisnick has enough playing time in the majors that he is likely as good as he is going to get, regardless of how much playing time he gets. Fisher is young and inexperienced enough that there is reason to believe that he could improve with more playing time. Sitting on the bench is not helping him any.

It is odd. Of course Marisnick and Springer are good buddies so maybe it is something that they believe that chemistry will fix. Makes no sense to me but there must be some great piece of wisdom that I am not aware of.

Normally they announce roster changes right after the game and they didn't announce anything so I'm assuming that JD Davis still won't be playing for the Astros in Oakland tomorrow, which is absolutely ridiculous.

I wish I could say yes, but no I don’t. At first when I saw that they were not in the lineup I considered that. I’m still thinking that as long as the Astros are close in the division, we won’t see Tucker before mid-June...past the time necessary to assure that he doesn’t qualify for Super Two status. If the manager at Fresno follows the lead of the ML management team, Kemp’s and Tucker’s day off was probably scripted at least a month ago.
